Eye care in the digital age

In this era, especially after the advent of corona,we find ourselves even more glued to our mobiles laptops etc, education has also become more online! So it's our duty to take care of our eyes ,especially children's eyes. Use of devices for upto 8 hrs leads tothe following problems. When the eyes are focused at a near point(30 to60 cms,the eye muscles get tired leading to pain and tearing of eyes. Tendency to develop short sight,or an increase in short-sightedness. Decreased blinking of eyes,(5-8 blinks per minute,instead of 15 blinks per minute) leads to Computer vision syndrome (dryness of the tear film in the eye leading to dry eye,with redness,pain and discomfort in eyes.) The screen of mobile or computer radiates blue light ,which decreases the hormone melatonin which is needed for a  good night's sleep,so you must put away devices 2 hours before sleep .Blue light filter spectacles also help. Vaccines... In the corona times...

The "Vaccine" has taken on the image of a "Savior" in these corona times. The human collective thinks ,if only the vaccine against corona came out fast it would be great.But is a vaccine  something we should manufacture in haste? Memory - how it works!

Memory is the storage of information in the nervous system. Much of the sensory inputs (sensations)which we experience are stored in the brain(cerebralcortex mostly )but also in the lower brain and spinal cord ,for future control of activities or the Thinking process. The storage of  information is called Memory.How does it function? This is a function of the nerve synapses(junctions) The sensation (for eg. Pain or touch )enters the nerve from the sensory receptors through the hairlike "branches"of the nerve and are then carried through the "stem"of the nerve(axon) to the" branches " of the next nerve, through a "junction"(synapse),and this goes on through as many as 200000 synapses(junctions )till the sensation reaches the cerebral cortex. These sensory experiences  from visual ,ear ,touch or other receptors,can either cause immediate reactions from the brain or can be stored in the brain for minutes ,weeks or years,and can determine bodil...

We won't gift our lives to corona,No!

Corona is our guest,we can let corona stay in our lives(bodies),for a few days and then politely say "Namaste". Set the intention that we won't give our lives to corona as a parting gift,set the intention,NOW! Do all we can to not let corona enter our bodies,and if at all it enters to give it a short mild stay . How ? Have a scrub bath daily to brush away all the invaders off  skin. Sleep and rest well. Get fresh air everyday from nature parks (constriction of the airways  is caused by smoke ,dust, Sulfur dioxide,acids in fog etc,) Avoid things which compromise our respiratory tract-  Smoking! (Our respiratory passages from nose to the innermost part of our lungs is lined by cells with cilia(hairlike extensions )which beat 20to30 times per second brushing towards the mouth ,germs or dust bathed in mucus to be coughed out.In smokers these cilia are partly destroyed.) Viruses ,bacteria ,we can deal with them!

We have bacteria ,viruses and fungi living on the surface of our body. They are called 'flora' ,they are our friends ! In our mouths , they make food tasty! In our anal canal ,they prevent us from running to the toilet all the time! But sometimes we are exposed to other highly infectious bacteria or viruses which can cause lethal diseases. Let's talk about IMMUNITY ; Our bodies have a special system for containing the different infections and toxic agents -this is Innate Immunity. Acquired Immunity ,occurs as a response to specific diseases,the body makes 'Antibodies',against the invading organism ,or 'trains ' a specific cell group to destroy them. Health- A natural state

Health is a natural state of the body. The body knows how to take care of itself (if only we let it ). It has an intelligence of it's own,it will tell you what it needs (like thirst ) or what it doesn't need (like that extra chocolate,but you have it any way). If only we let the body guide us ,and not the other way round,80 percent of illnesses would be gone. The rest are karmic issues carried over from previous lifetimes,which appear as illnesses which we have to suffer ,as part of our earlier understanding. But for the lucky majority ,health is a choice. Make it ! See you soon......
